Nikesha's Biography

Nikesha deeply appreciates her parents, Johnstown District Superintendent Reed L. Moore and Johnstown District Missionary Earnestine Moore, for enrolling her in classical piano lessons when she was seven years old. Nikesha is a Classical and Romantic Composer, Pianist, Vocalist, and Songwriter. Her primary musical styles are classical and romantic, while her gospel upbringing infuses her music with dynamic, rhythmic energy. She treasures her connection to her instrument and the immersive intensity of SONATA (sound). Nikesha navigates diverse genres, covering music from the 40s and 50s, Pop/Rock, Movie Themes, Contemporary/Love Songs, Jazz, Gospel, and Opera. All her siblings are musically talented. Both parents read sheet music, play piano, and sing by ear, demonstrating remarkable musicianship. Her talents developed through lessons, education, mentorship, and performances, and she continues to evolve musically. In high school, Nikesha was selected to attend the The Governor’s School of Excellence for Performing Arts in Pennsylvania for gifted students. She holds a minor in Music Theory and Literature from Susquehanna University. She has won two preliminary Miss America talent competitions and serves as assistant Minister of Music for the Johnstown District Churches of God in Christ. She continues performing in churches and hospitals locally and across state lines. Her experience spans restaurants, weddings, lounges, competitions, pageants, funerals, college events, nursing homes, and special events. Nikesha has performed across the United States and internationally. Although she notes that cultures, food, language, and lifestyles differ worldwide, she believes music heals, regardless of genre.

"Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.  Music is the electrical soil in which the spirit lives." ~ Beethoven.
