Nikesha N. Moore's Biography

  • As Nikesha navigates diverse genres, the artist moves seamlessly from music of the '40s and '50s to Pop and Rock.  Nikesha not only enjoys playing the piano to Movie Themes, but she enjoys playing the piano to Contemporary Love Songs, Jazz, Gospel, and Opera musical styles. Although rooted in classical and romantic styles, Nikesha is deeply influenced by her gospel upbringing.  She transitions into each genre with versatility, and she lets her background create a musical foundation without diminishing the authentic character of each style.

  • Nikesha is grateful for her parents starting her first classical piano lesson at the age of seven; Thank you Pastor Reed L. Moore and Evangelist Earnestine Moore, for the musical investment.  In high school, Nikesha was selected for the Governor’s School of Excellence for Performing Arts in Pennsylvania. She is a proud recipient of two preliminary Miss America talent competition awards at the Pennsylvania state level.  She holds a minor in Music Theory and Literature from Susquehanna University; She is a five-album recording artist. The albums are a mixed range of musical styles; Her musical spectrum includes classical masterpieces, contemporary love songs, and gospel rhythms. Nikesha currently serves as assistant Minister of Music for the Johnstown District Churches of God in Christ.

  • She is a living testimony that there is a profound ability of healing through music, and deeply believes, "Music Heals."

  • She is a pianist at First Unity C.O.G.I.C., 1500 Penn Avenue, Jeannette, PA  15644, every Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m.  Please join her in worshiping the Lord; the invitation is to experience God's healing power and his miraculous works!

Music, as Beethoven once said, is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy. It is the living medium through which the spirit thrives, connecting individuals across experiences and cultures.
